We have been a big fan of supporting the local art scene here in Beckenham & Penge, be it live music, comedy nights or our rotating art wall. June sees not one but three individual art projects at the the Three Hounds. Starting off this Saturday with our new artists residence slot, Terry Budgen, who will grace our walls for the next two months. Not only this but we also have the inaugural Beckenham Kids Art Trail, where art work from children from a local school will be on the walls in our downstairs seating area for the weekend. There is more information below including how you can give to the Art Trails chosen charity, Delight. We are also teaming up with local artist and a good friend of ours Darren Hayman to launch Pints & Paint, where we get together with like minded people, have a beer and do some painting. More details on this next week but this has been something on our mind for nearly two years now and we can't wait to work with Darren on this new project. We would say that art brings people together and we at the Three Hounds are proud to be part of that.
So what is Beckenham Kids Art Trail all about? Created by local artist Phil Price this Arts Trails is about local school kids creating wonderful pieces of art to exhibit and show on the trail and in two local business, Loki Coffee Shop and The Three Hounds. The purpose of the trail is to give our young kids a chance to create amazing art pieces and give them a place to show their amazing art work. With this in mind Beckenham Kids Arts Trail would also like to try and help many other young individuals have the opportunity to do the same thing. This is why the trial will be raising money for the incredible charity, Delight. Who are a leading arts-based learning charity, dedicated to creating lasting change for children affected by disadvantage. Delight's vision is to provide an equitable opportunity for every child to thrive both in their school years and beyond. Since 2014, they have positively impacted thousands of children through their innovative arts-based learning approach. If you would like to donate the link can be found here.
This week we also are happy to announce our continued support of local grassroots football with our sponsorship of Beckenham United FC being renewed 26/27 season. This is the third season of supporting this newly formed football club and we are proud to have been able to support the team from the start. The club itself is holding a Trialist In-House Friendly on July 4th for anyone interested in being part of the Senior Team (16+). If you get onto the team not only are you part of this amazing grassroots football but the kit you will be wearing will have our logo on the front. We think that is a win win situation if we do say so ourselves. There is currently an application form you can fill out here.
This Sunday we also have our June Mini Cask Festival. The list can be found below and the beers are looking rather tasty, with the likes of Bristol Beer Factory, Left Handed Giant & Arbor taking to the hand-pulls. We also have some news on how we are serving up Cask over the coming months and that can be found below in are weekly Cask section.
June also sees the start of a new monthly Battle Of The Breweries Tap Takeover, with the winner of each month going into a Grand Final at the end of the year, and the only way they get to the final is through you lovely lot voting for your favourite beer from the events. We will also be handing out some goodies to one lucky winner at each Battle Of The Breweries and everyone who enters throughout the year goes into the mega prize and the Grand Final.

🍻 What's On Cask! 🍻
We love Cask Ale and we want to make sure we can keep selling more and more Cask Beer. However, as the summer months come in the sale of Cask Beer always drops a little and because of this we are reducing our Cask offerings from four to three. The reason for this is to ensure we continue serving the best quality Cask Beer. Quantity is good when the quality isn't effected, but when sales drop, so does the quality and this is due to us being unable to shift the beer quick enough. Hopefully by reducing the beers to three we can continue giving you the best quality cast beer in Beckenham. So if you love the good stuff then head in for a pint or tell your friends and get the crew together to sip on the suds of this liquid goodness.
