Battle of the Breweries - Round One

Off the top we are pushing back our Jaipur Cask Takeover on Wednesday due to the extreme heat. We love Cask Beer and believe that Cask Weather is all Weather. However, that works when you have a great range at a lower abv, not three casks all sitting at 5.7%+ on one of the hottest days of the year. We will however get these three awesome beers on all at once in the coming weeks. All three can be found in our What's in the Cellar section below.

Thursday however, sees our first Battle of the Breweries, which sees Pretty Decent and Supercute go head to head to win a place in the Battle Royale later on in the year. How is this decided I hear you ask? By the power of the people, that's how. We will have a discount when you buy a third of all six beers to try. Then you vote for you favourite brewery. Once we have finished the Battle of the Breweries - Round One we will pick an entry at random who will also win a four pack of beers from the two selected breweries. The most voted for brewery will then go into our Battle Royale of the Breweries at the end of the year. So pop in from Thursday and be part of our new monthly Tap Takeover.

If you can't pop into the bar this week our Matt will be slinging beers at the LK Pop-Up Market at Venue 28 this Sunday from 10am to 3pm. He will have cold beers to drink while you shop and support loads of independent businesses, as well as keeping him company. 

We are teaming up with local artist Darren Hayman for our first Pints & Paints Session. After painting a Lego Space Man on one of our exhibition beer mats Darren was inspired to find beer mats from the 70's & 80's and draw birds on them. Darren explains in his book birds painted on beer mats, "The choice of beer mat and bird may seem arbitrary and often is, though sometimes a connection can be made between the two. Colour theory and composition can often be a decider; for whatever reason it seems right that there should be a long-tailed tit on a Courage beer mat". Our Pints & Paints Sessions is aimed to be relaxing, fun and casual, this is for people picking up a paint brush for the first time to artists wanting to learn a different discipline. Tickets are just £22 including fees and this gets you a two hour session, a complementary drink on arrival and you get to take your art work home with you. 🍻 What's On Cask! 🍻

We love Cask Ale and we want to make sure we can keep selling more and more Cask Beer. However, as the summer months come in the sale of Cask Beer always drops a little and because of this we are reducing our Cask offerings from four to three. The reason for this is to ensure we continue serving the best quality Cask Beer. Quantity is good when the quality isn't effected, but when sales drop, so does the quality and this is due to us being unable to shift the beer quick enough. Hopefully by reducing the beers to three we can continue giving you the best quality cast beer in Beckenham. So if you love the good stuff then head in for a pint or tell your friends and get the crew together to sip on the suds of this liquid goodness.
