Charity Five-Aside Football Tournament
We at the Three Hounds over the years have focused on being part of the local community through our four pillars of community focus. Each pillar looks at ways we can be a positive impact on the local community and neighbourhood we call home. The first one is our work to raise money and awareness for three local charities, Living Well Bromley, Bromley Homeless & Foal Farm Animal Recue. The second is our every growing effort to support grassroots sports, which led us to being a Finalist in the Pub Aid 2026 Community Pub Hero Awards. The third is bringing the community together through either supporting or organising events. The fourth and final pillar is to make a positive environmental impact.
Two of those pillars are coming together with the aim to raise money for a third pillar. Sports & Community for Charity. What started as a little kick about every other Monday between a dozen people has now grown to a weekly 8-Aside game between friends. This weekly kick about has fostered new friendships, helped people become more healthy through sport and convinced a few of them that they are actually good at playing football, which is questionable. We thought what a great way to test this new found confidence than to hold the first Three Hounds Charity Five-Aside Football Tournament.
So we are teaming up with local pubs, breweries and businesses to help raise awareness for local charity Living Well Bromley. The aim is to raise over £1000 through an exciting raffle, donations and teams registration for the tournament. So far the response from local businesses has been outstanding with five teams signed up for the tournament, already raising £200 towards are initial target. These wonderful teams will be from Craft Beer Cabin, The Star & Garter and The Shirkers Rest, alongside two teams from regulars of the Three Hounds.
We are also running a raffle on the run up to the event where local businesses have kindly donated to the prize draws. Raffle tickets are just £1 and available at the Three Hounds Bar & Brewery. The deadline to enter is October 24th at 10pm and the winners will be contacted within a week of the deadline. The ever growing list of donated prizes can be found below.
The Football Tournament in question is on October 24th and on that Saturday we will be donating 50p from every pint of Pendulum sold to Living Well Bromley, as well as be a collection point for anyone who would like to donate food to Living Well Bromley. We will have a list of items that the Foodbank is currently in need of closer to the time. With these three fundraising events we are hoping to hit our £1000 goal. If you aren't able to donate then that is absolutely fine as we know times are tough for lots of people. However, if you are able to share this with friends and family who might be able to donate that is just as impacting to our fundraising goals also.
