Let's Talk Beer Festivals

First off we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who popped down to the Homestead Café on Saturday who joined up and 6 other breweries for the Beer Festival in the Courtyard. The weather was great, the beers were flowing the music was fantastic. We are very much looking forward to next years Beer Festival in the Courtyard.

This has also got us itching to get our own Three Hounds & Friends Festival up and running. Let's talk a beer festival with music, food and good drink with breweries, cocktails maker, ciders makers and wineries, alongside local musicians and food traders. We are currently on the search for a venue and hoping to aim for October to hold the event. We also have an idea for a Beer Celebration next year which includes 10-12 different pubs, bars & breweries all celebrating independent beer and the amazing local beer scene.

Speaking of Beer Festivals, after the 3rd successive Three Hounds & Beckenham RFC Touch Rugby & Beer Festival, we are proud to have locked in 2027 back at the Beckenham Rugby Club. After feedback from customers, volunteers and organisers for 2027 the event will now be re-named Beckenham Beer Festival. For those who loved the Rugby aspect of the event, do not worry, the rugby will still continue during the Beer Festival Weekend but has been taken of the event name. The reason we decided to do this was to encourage more people to the festival who might of skipped this year due to thinking it was more Rugby focused. We also want to keep improving this festival and this is one of the many steps we have in place for 2027. We have even set up an Beckenham Beer Festival Instagram page for you lovely lot to following. There isn't much on their yet but details on dates, tickets and more will be coming soon.

July is officially here and this month sees our usual Sips & Strategies, Suds & Social and Magic: The Gathering at the Three Hounds joined by Battle of the Breweries - Round Two with Saint Monday vs State Of Kind on the the 16th and Sierra Nevada Tap Takeover, including a Cask of their Pale Ale on the 25th. However, with the weather and the drop in Cask Beer sales at the bar, we have come to the decision to cancel this months Mini Cask Festival. Hopefully we will be back in August or September, for now keep popping in and drinking the quality cask we do have on.

🍻 What's On Cask! 🍻

We didn't want to do this as we are big fans of Cask Ale but due to the weather and people gravitating more towards the keg lines we have seen a massive fall off in Cask Beer sales. This unfortunately means we are going down to just two Cask Beers over the Summer, we have however, installed our Summer Cask Cooler this week so ensure the Cask Beer is at a fantastic temperature once poured, if sales do pick up we will slowly go back up too four lines. However, this pretty much realise on people popping in for a pint of the good stuff, and this week we saw even are most loyal Cask drinkers go for the colder keg beers.
